Saturday, November 9
Meet at 8 am for continental breakfast & short worship service (meeting location to be announced). Dismiss to work sites.

Reconvene at First Christian Church 11:30am-12pm for barbecue/hotdog lunch (View Map).

Sunday, November 10
Meet at the Baha’i Center on Waters Avenue 12:30 pm for pizza lunch and short worship service. Dismiss to work sites. (View Map)

Young and old, singles and families – all are welcome! Congregations in Service includes people from many faiths – Jewish, Christian, Unitarian-Universalists, Bahá’í, Islamic, and Roman Catholics. We also welcome those who are not members of a religious institution.

Anticipated Saturday projects include:

  • No-sew quilts for homeless shelters and the Justice Center
  • Decorating pillowcases for shelters and children’s homes
  • Creating greeting cards for nursing homes
  • Painting  glass jars as house-warming gifts for formerly homeless/refugees
  • Project with the Savannah Tree Foundation
  • Beach cleanup on Tybee Island
  • Organize the storage unit for Inspiritus (local refugee settlement services)

Anticipated Sunday projects include:

  • No-sew quilts for homeless shelters and the Justice Center
  • Decorating pillowcases for shelters and children’s homes
  • Creating greeting cards for nursing homes
  • Choral performances at nursing homes
  • General onsite maintenance at Pegasus Riding Academy (equine therapy facility)
  • Litter cleanup at Daffin Park
  • Baking goodies for various homeless organizations

We expect to add more projects, so check this page often for updates!

Additionally, we’ll be collecting items requested by Inspritus, which resettles refugee families relocating to the Savannah area. So please bring any of the following donations with you on Saturday or Sunday:

  • Twin or single sheet sets- new or used
  • New bed pillows
  • Towels
  • Pots- any size
  • Twin or single bed blankets or comforters
  • Men’s belts, size 28 to 34
