Saturday, April 18
Meet at First Presbyterian Church, 520 Washington Ave., at 8 am for continental breakfast & short interfaith worship service and collection of donated items. Dismiss to work sites. (View Map)
Reconvene at First Christian Church, 711 East Victory Dr., from 12-12:30 pm for a free lunch. (View Map).
Sunday, April 19
Meet at Congregation Mickve Israel, 20 East Gordon St., at 1 pm for pizza lunch and short interfaith worship service. Dismiss to work sites. (View Map)
Young and old, singles and families – all are welcome! Congregations in Service includes people from many faiths – Jewish, Christian, Unitarian-Universalists, Bahá’í, Islamic, and Roman Catholics. We also welcome those who are not members of a religious institution.
Some of our volunteer partners and activities will include:
- Blanket making and pillowcase decorating to be given to children
- Pegasus Riding Academy – Outdoor tasks at the horse barn
- Dog walking for Renegade Paws
- Volunteering at Safe Shelter for cleanup
- Park Place clean up inside and yard work outside
- Food sorting at Second Harvest
- Yard Cleanup for a needy neighbor
- Baking for the Lutheran Church neighborhood outreach
- Goodie bags for unhoused peoples
